Due to the proliferation of online communication, we have become more and more indifferent to what we call “real life”. We spend a tremendous amount of time on the Internet with little time left caring for our daily life. Gradually, we are getting distracted from our work and family, which used to be the core of our life.We are wholly obsessed with the Internet, which plays an essential part of our daily life instead of our work and family. Obviously, this kind of phenomenon generates a new way of being alone, exactly, physically connected to computer but mental separation from our real life. There is some specific evidence to support my point of view.
With the overexposure to the Internet, many of us actually lead a sedentary lifestyle, enjoying the happiness ought by online communication. Nevertheless, this is a virtual world without any authentic emotion. Only by communicating with other individuals in real life can we truly experience touching emotion.
On the other hand, the time spent online diminishes our chances to stay with our family, leading to emotional isolation from them. To some extent, this is a new way of isolation.
In conclusion, we should pay more attention to this phenomenon and some effective measures should be taken to reverse this damaging trend.
